January 17, 2007 DAV Productions Completes “CEO for a Week” Program for University of Illinois Business Students Program’s Second Year Sees Major Growth in Interest January 17, 2007 – Las Vegas – DAV Productions, a Las Vegas-based event solutions and audio, video and lighting production company, recently completed its second “CEO for a Week” Externship Program for students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s College of Business. The program, offered with the full support of the university, saw interest rise more than 400% since 2006 with 35 applicants vying for six openings. This year’s Business Entrepreneur participants are Matt Stallman, Pat Gallagher and Annie Graham. Those students spent a week shadowing department heads and employees in the many different areas of DAV Productions, from sales and human resources to event and media production. “The DAV Productions’ Externship Program is meant to open the eyes of students from these respective colleges who may not be exactly sure what they want to focus on, and to give them a first-hand experience on how the business world works,” said Ben Brownback, vice president and COO of DAV Productions. “They’re able to not only shadow our company’s leadership, but interact with Legal Counsel, our Corporate CPA and bankers in hopes that they have a better understanding of what it takes to keep a business up and running,” he added. “This was a fantastic learning experience for me,” said Matt Stallman, Business College participant. “DAV showed me how a real company operates, and more importantly, a company that I would like to be a part of someday. It truly was inspiring,” he added. Annie Graham, also a student in the Business College, agrees. “I didn’t know what to expect from a week-long crash course, but now that’s it’s over, I feel that I learned more in that short amount of time than I have ever learned from reading a textbook.” “Spending just one week with a company like DAV is something that every college student should strive for,” said Pat Gallagher. “It’s hard to gain the experience that we did while sitting in a business class, and now I can use that knowledge to focus on what I am specifically interested in,” he added.
